Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong .  Ahead of the Plateau State Local Government elections scheduled for October 9, 2021, Governor Simon Lalong has said that his party, the All Progressives Congress will sweep the polls in the 17 council areas of the state. The governor spoke on Saturday while flagging off campaign for the party in the Shendam Local Government Area of the state Lalong, who said that APC will field candidates across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, added that the party had done a lot for the development of the state and attained greater acceptance which will guarantee its total victory during the elections. Lalong while presenting flags to the candidates urged them to go to the polls with confidence as the people have seen and touched the performance of the APC which will spur them to choose the party during the ballot. The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has said that it regretted that it got rid of then-President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections to vote in the incumbent, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). The group expressed disappointment that Buhari has let down millions of Nigerians including members of the All Progressives Congress who trusted in his leadership prior to the poll six years ago. NEF, therefore, said that the next President of Nigeria should be one who would act in the “opposite direction” of Buhari, who hails from Katsina, North-West Nigeria.
